Last Rites For Edwin Howes
Was Life Long Resident of This VicinityFuneral services were held for Edwin Howes, 63, who died last Sunday (December 31, 1939) night, from his home Wednesday afternoon with services in the Methodist church at Merrill, Rev. J. R. Kirby, the pastor, officiating. Interment was made in the Merrill cemetery.
Mr. Howes, who was a well known farmer in Washington township, died at the farm home in which he was born and had lived all his life died of a heart ailment, suffering a stroke four days previous to his death.
Mr. Howes was born November 3, 1876, and was married January 22, 1899, at Merrill to Lela Woodruff. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Lela, a son, Charles Howes, of Merrill, his mother, Mrs. Emma Howes, of Merrill, four brothers, David, of Harley, Idaho, George, of Denver, Colo., Will, of Sioux City, and Walter, of Merrill, a sister, Mrs. Erwin Taylor, of Merrill and three grandchildren.
