Funeral Rites For Frank Puetz
Well Known Retired Farmer Dies

Final rites were held Thursday morning at St. Joseph church in this city for Frank Puetz, 73, retired farmer, Mgr. J. D. Fisch officiating, and interment was made in St. Joseph cemetery.

Mr. Puetz died unexpectedly at his home, 101 Seventh Avenue SE, Monday (January 1, 1940) morning from heart failure. Frank Puetz was born May 23, 1866, and as a young man engaged in farming near Early, Iowa. He farmed there for sixteen years before coming to Plymouth county and buying a farm a mile east of town where he farmed many years before retiring and coming to Le Mars to live.

He was married at Early February 8, forty-six years, ago to Mary Anna Reiff, who with fourteen children survives him. The sons and daughters are John of Merrill, Donald of Los Angeles, Calif., James, in the navy stationed at San Diego, Calif., William, Vincent and Lawrence of Le Mars, Mrs. Leo Braband and Mrs. F. M. Wurth, Sioux City, Mrs. V. J. Lewis of Struble, Ann of Portland, Oregon, Angeline of Brooklyn, N. Y., Clementine of Chicago, Mrs. Geo. Wolbers and Mrs. Frank Kramer of Le Mars. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Katherine Gard of Early, and Mrs. Barbara Kirwin, of Morris, Minn.

Two sons, Hugo and Arthur, preceded him in death.

The funeral arrangements were in charge of Wiltgen's.
