Le Mars Semi Weekly Sentinel Friday, July 10, 1942

Last rites were held Thursday morning in St. Joseph church for Mrs. Katie Henrich, 72, who died Monday (July 6, 1942) at the Sacred Heart hospital following an operation. Msgr. J. D. Fisch officiated at the mass and interment was made in St. Joseph cemetery under direction of the Wiltgen funeral home.

Mrs. Henrich was born at Sublette, Ill., September 7, 1869, and when a small girl came to Iowa, her parents settling near Odebolt, where she attended school and grew up. She was married to Martin Henrich, January 22, 1890, at Odebolt. Following their marriage they came to Le Mars and farmed in Plymouth county ever since. She is survived by a large number of children and descendants: Fred of Dell Rapids, S. D.; John, Martin, Alvin and Leo of Akron; Mrs. John Deiterman of Sutherland; Mrs. Otto Kallsen of Craig; Mrs. Ernest Topf of Sergeant Bluff; Paul and Edwin of Le Mars; Mrs. James Friend and Mrs. Reginald Thorpe of Los Angeles. There are thirty-one grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Jacob Konradi, and a sister, Mrs. Jacob Reis, of Odebolt.

Mrs. Henrich was a member of the Christian Mothers society. She was well known and highly esteemed in the community.
