DEATH CLAIMS SARAH BLUMER

DECEASED WAS. RESIDENT OF THIS,PLACE FOR HALF A CENTURY

Mrs. Sarah Blumer,a resident of Plymouth county. for over.fifty years, died at her home early Sunday morning of influenza and other complications. She was sick for about three weeks but her death was rather sudden.

Mrs.. Blumer was born in Canton Grabunden, Switzerland, November 20, l864. She came to America in 1878, and shortly after her arrival in the state came to LeMars and resided here up to the time of her death. Her maiden hame was Sarah Ruedy. She was married to Bartholomew Blumer, December, 4 1885. To this happy union five children were born, one of whom; preceded her in death. Her husband preceded her in death October 4, 1918, leaving her the cares of a family. Those left to mourn the untimely death of a loving mother and sister are: Bert Blumer, of Beresford, South Dakota; Mrs. Ed Utech, of LeMars; Margaret and Marie at home. She leaves an only sister, Mrs. Anna Tanner and five grandchildren . Mrs.Blumer was a devoted mother, a good citizen, neighbor, and friend. she was a life long member of the St. John's Evangelical church.

The funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 29, at 2:30 at the St. Johns’s Evangelical Church, Rev. P,. V. Dyck officiating,. The bearers will be old friends and neighbors of the deceased. They are Fred Richener, John Huber, Burney Miller, Chas. Werley, Andrew Harter, and Chas. Will. She will be greatly missed by her children and a host of relatives and friends.
