Gordon T. Ross

Gordon Thomas Ross, 61, Sacramento, Calif., died September 27, 1974 at Sacramento, after a lingering illness.

He was born April 9, 1913, at Miller, S. D. His parents died in 1919 and he was brought to Akron and raised with the E. P. Klauer family. He graduated from Akron high school and attended South Dakota School of Mines in Rapid City. He joined the U.S. Marine corps in 1935 and was discharged as a master Sgt. in 1945. At the time of his death he was a retired California state employee.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth, 2 daughters, Lynne Ross and Lorene Aguirre, both of Sacramento; 2 sons, John Mertens, Sacramento and Allen Ross of Fair Oaks, Calif.; 2 brothers, Herbert, Westfield and Melvern of West Sacramento; 2 sisters, Dorothy Kindig ofWestfield and Helen Schmidt of Santa Rosa, California; 3 grandchildren; seven foster brothers and sisters, Philip, Eugene, Richard, gertrude, Julia Klauer and Dorothy Lingley all of California, and Kay Vance, Illinois.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 1 at East Lawn Mortuary in Sacramento. Interment was at East Lawn Sierra Hills Memorial Park in Sacramento.
