Steven C. Williams, 46, of Struble, formerly of Le Mars, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Steven Charles Williams was born on Aug. 18, 1967, in Sioux City, the son of Arthur and Betty (Anderson). He attended Clark Elementary and graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1985.

His first job after high school was at K-Products in Orange City. After that he took a manager's position at the Roadside 75 Gas Station in Maurice. For the last nine years Steve was employed at A & I Products in Rock Valley.

Steve was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. He also followed the Iowa Hawkeyes.

In his spare time he loved to bowl, fish, golf, play cards, and watch sports on TV. His favorite time was spent with his family and friends.

He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Art and Betty Williams, of Le Mars; a brother, Paul, of Boyden; two sisters, Beth Williams and Heidi Schleis and her husband Mike, both of Le Mars; his grandmother, Marian Anderson, of Le Mars; a niece and nephew, Joseph and Jordan Schleis, of Le Mars; aunts, LaVonne and John Matthews, of Apple Valley, Minn., and Pat Williams, of Le Mars; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rhine Anderson and William and Liz Williams; aunts, Kathy and Noreen Williams; and uncles, Bob, Bill, Tom, and Ron Williams.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today (Monday) at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. The Rev. Peter Rosenkvist will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Le Mars. Visitation began at 4 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church with a prayer service at 7 p.m. There will also be one hour of visitation at the church prior to the service on Monday.

The Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars is assisting Steve's family with funeral arrangements.
