Heart Attack Fatal To Mrs. Ida Ross On September 21

Brief mention was made in these columns last week of the death of Mrs. Ida L. Ross, a former well-known and esteemed Akron resident, who passed away Saturday September 21, 1957, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Erma Lanke, 1111 North Holland, Portland, Ore. She had been subject to a heart condition the past few years, and a sudden attack the morning of September 11, resulted in her death a short time later. Her age was 68 years, 3-months, and 16 days.

Ida L. Reemts, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Reemts, of Akron, was born June 5, 1889, in Plymouth county, Iowa, where she resided during early childhood, later moving to Union county, S. D., eith her parents. She became a member of Trinity Lutheran church, of Akron, in confirmation with the Rev. Fred A. Meske as pastor. She was united in marriage with clyde Boyson Ross, of Akron, February 20, 1912, and resided in this vicinity most of her life, until becoming a resident of Portland in 1943.
Left to mourn her departure are three daughters, Mrs. Erma Lamke and Miss Flora Reemts of Portland, Ore.; and Mrs. James Van Dyke, of Corona del Mar, Calif.; one son, Norman J. F. Ross, of Monmouth, Ore.; one sister, Mrs. John Borchers, and one brother, Herman Reemts, both of Akron, Ia.; also seven grandchildren, Larry, Barbara and Deborah Lamke, of Portland; John and Mark Van Dyke, of Corona del Mar, Calif.; and Norman, Jr., and APatricia Ross, of Monmouth, Ore.

A kind and devoted mother, a valued friend and neighbor, she will be missed and mourned by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, September 24, at the Little Chapel of the Chimes, Portland, conducted by the Rev. Eugene Larson, of Augustana Lutheran church. Hymns, "Asleep in Jesus," "Blessed Sleep" and "Have Thine Own Way, Lord," were sung by Ruth Halverson. Pallbearers were friends and members of Augustana Lutheran church. Interment was in Riverside Abbey, Portland, Ore.

Attending the services from out of Portland were: Mrs. James Van Dyke, of Corona del Mar, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Ross, of Monmouth, Ore.; Henry Steinert, of Akron, Ia., and friends from Vancouver, Wash.
