JOHN ROSS, WELL KNOWN HERE, DIES IN DAKOTA

John Ross, a former well known resident of Plymouth county, died at his home, in Wessington, S. D., on Friday, December 29. He had been in failing health for about a couple of months, due principally to old age. Previous to his last illness he enjoyed rugged health all his life, being over ninety years of age.

He came to Plymouth county in 1881 from Cape Breton, Canada, with a number of his countrymen who settled near Crathorne where he lived for a number of years. He moved from here to South Dakota about twenty four years ago.

He is survived by his wife and several sons and daughters who are Alex Ross, Saskatchewan, Mrs. Duncan Robertson, Crathorne, Mrs. M. F. Brodie, Le Mars, Robert Ross, Angus Ross, Mrs. Wm. McGilvery, Donald Ross, of Wessington, S. D., Mrs. H. Manker, Artesia, California, Mrs. Arthur Moat, of Gull Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada.

The funeral was held on Sunday at the Presbyterian church at Wessington and interment made at that place. Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Robertson went to attend the funeral.
