Akron woman dies at age 101

Miss Alta E. Ross, 101, of Akron died Sunday (June10, 1984) in the Akron city hospital of a long illness.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Schroeder funeral home in Akron. The Rev. elmer Hodge of the First Church of Christ officiated. Burial was in the Riverside cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ray Jespersen, Darcy Fletcher, Les Mitchell and Matt Mitchell.

Miss Ross was born June 30, 1882 to Boyson and Dora Holst Ross on the farm in Union county, South Dakota. She was the eldest of seven children.

She graduated from Akron high school and the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee.
Survivors include nieces and nephews. She was the sister-in-law of Mrs. Lucille Ross of Akron.
