MRS. J. M. ROZELL CALLED TO REWARD
Final Summons Comes As Relief After Months of Severe Illness
Mrs. J. M. Rozell passed away away at her home, one mile east of Akron, shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 1930, lacking only six days of being 68 years of age. Her illness extended over a period of nearly nine months, during which time she was an intense sufferer. She had suffered a stroke of paralysis, but cerebral hemorrhage was the immediate cause of death.
Emma Jane Schoen was born in orter county, Indiana, September 5, 1862, where she spent her girlhood. In 1881 she came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Schoen, to Lincoln county, S. D. She was united in marriage with James M. Rozell, at FAirview, S. D., forty-eight years ago. They farmed near Akron and Rock Rapids, Iowa, and also lived at Canton, S. D. For the past few years they have been residing near Akron.
Besides the husband, the surviving children left to mourn her departure are Arthur Rozell, of Akron, Ia.; Mrs. S. C. Tucker of Madison, S. D.; Mrs. George Tucker, of Le Mars, Ia.; Seth Rozell, of Merrill, Ia.; Emery Rozell, of Merrill; Fred and Francis Rozell at home.
A son, James, died at the age of six years in 1900, and another child died in infancy.
In addition to the above, Mrs. Rozell leaves five sister, one brother, thirty-two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The sympathy of the community is extended the bereaved family.
Mrs. Rozell was recieved into theAkron Methodist church on profession of faith September 12, 1900 under the pastorate of Rev. L. A. McCaffree, and remained in the fellowship during the remainder of her life.
A brief service was held at the home Wednesday at 2 p.m., afte which the body was taken to the Methdist church, from which the funeral proper was conducted by the pastor, Wilson Gow. The services were largely attended by friends and relatives. Appropriate music was rendered by a quartet composed of Miss Clara Mae Stoutenburg, Mrs. Wilson Gow, Dr. G. H. Wooton and Ed Stinton, with Mrs. Lois Nelson at the piano. The casket was carried by six grandsons, as follows Arthur, aRden and Arvil Rozell and Clifton, James and Herman Tucker. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
