J. M. Rozell Succumbs To Old Age

James M. Rozell, 85, retired farmer, died at the Zimmerman Home in this city Sunday. He had been a patient there the past month. He lived in the Akron vicinity many years.

James Munroe Rozell was born January 13, 1856, in Polk county, Iowa.

He is survived by his children who are Arthur Rozell, of Akron, Mrs. Ada Tucker of Madison, S. D., Mrs. Minnie Williams of Sioux City, Seth Rozell of Lake Nebegoman, Wis., Emery Rozell of Plattsmouth, Neb., Fred Rozell of Le Mars. There are forty grandchildren and forty great grandchildren two sons, Francis and James, and a brother, John Rozell.

J. M. Rozell was well known in the west part of the county and was esteemed by a large nunber.
He lived on farms near Merrill and Akron the past twenty-five years and lived in Le Mars the past few years.

The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at the Mauer funeral home in Le Mars and services will be held at the Methodist church in Akron at 2:30 p.m., Rev. W. H. Lease officiating, and interment made in the Akron cemetery.

JAMES M. ROZELL CALLED BY DEATH
Rites For Well Known Akron Man Are Held Here Wednesday

James M. Rozell, a former resident of Akron and vicinity, passed away at the Zimmerman Home in Le Mars early Sunday morning, March 9, 1941, following an illness of several weeks due to the infirmities of advanced age. He was 85 years old.

James Minroe Rozell was born January 18, 1856, in Dallas county, Iowa. He had lived in Plyouth county, Iowa, since 1915 and floowed the occupation of farming in the vicinities of Merrill and Akron. He retired fourteen years ago and moved to Akron. In 1892 he was united in marriage with Emma Schoen, who preceded him in death several years ago.

He had made his home with his son, Fred, in Le Mars, for the past six years. Mr. Rozell and family united with the Akron Methodist church on September 1, 1900, and he remained in the fellowship during the remainder of his life.

Surviving to mourn his departure are six children; Arthur, of Akron; Mrs. Ada Tucker, of Madison, S. D.; Mrs. Minnie Williams, of Sioux City; Seth, of Lake Nebabamon, Wis.; Emery, of Plattsmouth, Nebr., and Fred of Le Mars. There are also 40 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren who survive, in addition to one brother, Dave Rozell, of Denver, Colo.

Two sons, Francis and James, and one brother, John, preceded him in death.

Mr. Rozell was an upright, industrious citizen, a kind husband and father and a loyal friend and good neighbor. The community extends its sympathy to the bereaved relatives.

Funeral services were Wednesday afternoon at the Mauer funera home in Le Mars, Rev. S. A. Jones officiating, and at 2:30 o'clock in the Methodist church in Akron, conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. H. Lease. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
