Body of Former Merrill Resident Taken Home for Burial

Merrill Record: Percy Edward Hauser a former resident of Merrill vicinity, passed away Tuesday evening, July 19, at the Sioux Valley hospital at Sioux Falls, S. D., following a sickness of pneumonia and heart trouble.

Mr. Hauser was a native of Merrill, being born here August 12, 1882. When a young man he was married at Salem, S. D., to Lucy Jenneman, who preceded him in death about 20 years ago. One daughter, who is now Mrs. Charles Kale, of Vermillion, S. D., was born to this union, Allen, Hazel, Sibyl, and Mildred all of Sioux Falls. He is also survived by a sister, Mrs. John Backeberg, of Elbow Lake, Minn, and a brother, John Hauser, of Le Mars.

His daughter, Mrs. Charles Kale, had been with him the past two weeks previous to his death, but was called to Merrill Sunday evening on account of the death of George Kale. Mrs. Kale was again called back to Sioux Falls but did not reach her father's bedside until about a half hour after he had passed away.

Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the chapel of the White Funeral Home in Merrill, Rev. Smith, of Crathorne Presbyterian church officiating. Interment was made at Crathorne cemetery.
