RUBEN STABE
Ruben Stabe, 86, of Sioux City, Iowa, died Saturday, September 22, 2001, at a Sioux City nursing and rehab center following a lengthy illness. Mr. Stabe was born August 20, 1915, in Hinton, the son of Karl and Amanda (Heimgartner) Stabe. He attended Hinton schools. On October 2, 1938, he married Alma Kluver in Hinton. He farmed at Hinton for several years and moved to Sioux City in 1968. There he was employed as a foreman for K.D. Feeds for 10 years retiring in 1978. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Sioux City where he was involved in several church activities. Survivors include his wife Alma; two daughters Marlene Miller of Sioux City and Mary Stultz and her husband Don of Hinton; a brother and his wife, Vernon and Elsie Stabe of Hinton; a sister and her husband, Esther and Harry Reinholdt of Remsen; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He preceded in death by his parents, a son Richard, a grandson Richard Karl II, a great-grandson Connor Stultz; two brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held at Calvary Lutheran Church. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City.
