Mabel Viola Ronell, 95, of Elk Point died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at the Long Term Care Center in Genoa, NE.
Services were Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Dalesburg Lutheran Church, rural Vermillion. Burial was in Ahlsborg Cemetery, Elk Point.
Mrs. Ronell was born Nov. 19, 1906, in rural Plymouth County near Akron to Louis and Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Jammerthal) Kaelke. She grew up in the Akron vicinity and worked for a brief period in Sioux City. On March 18, 1930, she married Henry Ronell. They lived near Spink in Union County, where they farmed until Mr. Ronell's death in 1968. Mrs. Ronell was a member of Ahlsborg Lutheran Church in rural Elk Point until its closing. She then attended Dalesburg Lutheran Church. She was active in L.C.W. and Sunday school. She served as a member on the Bethesda Lutheran Home Board of Directors.
Survivors include a son, Norman and his wife, lone of Fullerton; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son and two sisters.
