Shirley Mae Day

Shirley Mae Day, 66, of Luverne, Minn., died Monday, March 20, 1995 at Hardwick, Minn.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 23 at the First Baptist church in Luverne, with Rev. Thomas J. Mabe officiating. Burial will follow at the Maplewood cemetery in Luverne.

Pallbearers are Verlyn Anspach, Bruce Carlson, Keith Forsberg, Terry Newcomer, Scott Anspach, and DeWayne Kurteribach.

Shirley Mae Jammerthal was born June 7, 1928 in Akron to Harold and Gladys (Lower) Jammerthal. She married Darwin Day June 21, 1946 in Marshall, Minn.

Survivors include her husband four sons. David and his wife Nancy of Hopkins. Minn.; Dennis of Bakersfield, Calif.; and Gary and his wife Marilyn of Yankton, S.D.; Four daughters. Nancy and her husband Verlyn Anspach of Montevideo. Minn. Jody and her husband. Terry Newcomer of Sioux Falls, S.D.; Sherry and her husband Keith Forsberg of Hardwick, Minn.; and Peggy and her husband Bruce Carlson of Hospers, IA; 13 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother Harold "Bud" and his wife Jo Jammerthal of Akron; five sisters, Lorraine and her husband Ed Klewel, Lola Prothero, Imogene and her husband Clyde McKee all of Akron; Lois Ann and her husband Jim Arens of Merrill; and Elaine and her husband "Dutch"'Jack Strong of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Darlene Lawrence, and infant triplet siblings Audrey, Carol, and Dean.
