Orv Curtiss "Curt" Stoesz

1938-2013

Orv Curtiss Stoesz was welcomed to his Heavenly Home on October 16, 2013, after a year long battle with cancer.

Orv was born October 23, 1938, in his parental home of Cornelius A. and Martha Duerksen Stoesz near Butterfield of Watonwan County, Minnesota.

As a young teen he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was a witness to God's saving power to those he met.

Orv graduated from Butterfield High School in 1957. After graduation he went to Grace Bible Institute in Omaha, Nebraska, where he met his wife Ardythe Rees.

Orv farmed with his father and family. He had a diverse and rich career in multiple disciplines. He enjoyed taking Interior Design Classes and worked for firms in Owatonna, Omaha, and Denver, Colorado. He was a top award winning salesman of Porsche-Audi cars.

Orv loved the arts. He sang and directed in numerous Church Choirs and Chorales throughout his life. He enjoyed teaching the Bible and expressing himself through art and theatre. He also enjoyed serving in many roles at various churches throughout his life.

September 26. 1959, Orv married Ardythe Kay Rees of Merrill, Iowa. They were married in Merrill-Stanton Evangelical United Brethern Church in Stanton Township, Plymouth County, Iowa.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ardythe "Ardy", son Kevin, son Curtis and wife Janet (children Katie Sarah and Emily) and son Clarke with wife Kristine (children Amanda Alex Rhya, Samantha, Luke and Natalie). He is also survived by brother Waldo & wife Geneva Stoesz, sister Arpa and husband Bob Emmert and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cornelius A. Stoesz, mother Martha Duerksen and step-mother Anna Nickel Franz Stoesz, his father in law Harold Edwin Rees and mother in law Lois Arvella Zimmerman Rees.

A Celebration of life ceremony was help 2:00 p.m. at the Southern Gables Evangelical Free Church located in 4001 South Wadsworth in Littleton, Colorado.

Memorial gifts were accepted for Ukraine Orphan Outreach and Set Free Ministries.
