RAYMOND SWANSON

Raymond Swanson, 91, of Hinton, Iowa, died Tuesday, September 26, 2000, at a Sioux City hospital.

Funeral services were held Friday September 29, at Grace Evangelical Church in Hinton. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Raymond Swanson was born in Colbran, Colorado, on September 22, 1909, the son of Rudy G. and Ida (Trafton) Swanson. He was raised in Northeast Nebraska.

He married Jean G. Ellison on April 24, 1937, in Hinton and farmed in rural Hinton for the past 63 years.

He was a member of the Sioux City Gospel Mission Board of Directors and of Gideons International-Siouxland Chapter. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Church, Sioux City.

He is survived by his wife Jean of Hinton; one son and his wife Paul and Mary of Hastings, Nebraska; one daughter Mary and Gregg Gesche of Merrill; five grandchildren; one sister Gladys and Louis Foster of Moville, Iowa; one brother Donald and Margaret Swanson of Sioux City. He preceded in death by three brothers Lowell, Elmer, and Paul Swanson.
