ACCIDENT CLAIM LIFE OF HINTON MAN
Braden G. Bogue, 22, was fatally injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred at 6:05 a. m. on Wednesday, December 15. The mishap took place one mile south of Carnes, Iowa, on Iowa Highway 60. According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office Bogue was driving north on Highway 60 when his vehicle was struck by a southbound trailer being pulled by Kenneth Buysman of Sheldon. Icy road conditions and a strong wind blew the loaded trailer into the northbound lane causing the driver to lose control and cross the centerline. Bogue was flown by Mercy Air Care to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City where he later died.BRADEN G. BOGUE
Braden Bogue, 22, of Hinton, Iowa, died on December 16, 1999, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Braden was born on February 26, 1977, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Stan and Judy (Schuelke) Bogue. He was a lifelong resident of Hinton, graduating as valedictorian of Hinton Community School’s Class of 1996. He was in in his senior year at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota, majoring in English and Linguistics and minoring in Music. He studied Greek and Latin and had just returned from spending a semester at Oxford University in Oxford, England. He had hoped to be an English professor at the college level. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Sioux City, Iowa, and attended Calvary Baptist Church in St. Cloud. He received the A. W. A. N. A. Timothy Award from Central Baptist. He was a member of the St. Cloud State University choir, the University Concert Choir and the University Singers. He was a representative of the Honors Club and served as the Honor Society newsletter editor in 1997 and 1998. Braden was a member of Campus Crusade For Christ, a member of the United Ministries in Higher Education (UMHE) and a member of Stars Advanced Leadership Program. He was a member of Habitat for Humanity and was serving as co-president and coordinator this year. He was a member of the W. W. Holes Residence Hall Council and was Resident Advisor for Holes Hall. Braden was a research assistant on a Ph. D. program at the college, served on the judicial board at St. Cloud State and was a Write Place tutor. He traveled extensively in Europe and China. Braden was a member of the college Bowling Club he also had an interest in golf, track, playing the piano, theater, coin collecting, backpacking with his sister, Brinne, and playing cards. Braden is survived by his parents Stan and Judy Bogue of Hinton; sister Brinne Bogue of Hinton; his fiancee Carrie Dygert of St. Cloud, Minnesotqa; his maternal grandparents George and Beverly (Blatchley) Schelke of Ft. Collins, Colorado; his paternal grandparents Kenneth and Alma (Giles) Bogue of Ulysses, Kansas; his aunts and uncles Joy and Ron Friehauf; Janet and Doug Darling; Keith and Joyce Bogue. He preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents Miles and Enid Blatchley; Fred and Anna Schuelke; his paternal great-grandparents Bill and Eunice Giles; Frank and Mildred Jenlink. Funeral services were held at Central Bapist Church in Sioux City. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City.
