Elmer W. Dunham

Elmer Dunham departed this life last Thursday, December 18, 1975 at the St. Vincent hospital in Sioux City, following an illness of many months duration. He was 53 years of age.

Elmer W. Dunham was born September 25, 1922, in Union County, South Dakota. His parents, who preceded him in death were Charles and Stella Dunham.

He lived his entire life in Union county. Elmer was a quiet friendly and likeable person who face life serenely. During his last illness this was especially apparent.

Among those surviving his departure are his seven brother, George Dunham Jr. of Palo Alto, Calif., Charles Dunham Jr. of Sioux City, Iowa, Leo,Walter, Robert and Donald Dunham of Elk Point, and Roy Dunham of Akron; his three sisters, Mrs. Ruth Crow of Merrill, Iowa, Mrs. Betty Jacobson and Mrs. Lois Friske both of Akron; his several nieces and nephews, besides his many other relatives and friends.

The funeral service in his memory was held in the Schroeder Funeral Chapel here in Akron last Saturday afternoon, with Pastor David J. Roy officiating. Carol Harris was vocalist and sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, accompanied by Phyllis Frisk, pianist.

Charles Crow, Calvin Dunham, Jack Friske, Clayton Jacobson, Darcy Jacobson and Russell Jacobson were casket bearers. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
