DELMAR CARROLL
Delmar Carroll, 75, of Hinton died Tuesday March 28, 2000, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Carroll was born September 4, 1924, in Sioux City, the son of Doras and Laura (Early) Carroll. He grew up in Sioux City and attended Central high School. He served in the U. S. Army from 1943 to 1945. On September 1, 1948, he married Margaret “Peggy” Spies in Merrill. He worked for Sioux City Paint & Glass for 23 years. After his retirement he drove a special education car for the Hinton Schools. He was a member of the Merrill Melbourne United Methodist Church, the Hinton American Legion Casper Post 477 and the Sioux City D. A. V. Survivors include his wife, two sons Michael Carroll and his wife Maureen of Le Mars; Dennis Carroll and his wife Marla of Las Vegas, Nevada; his mother Laura Carroll of Sioux City; one brother Donald Carroll of Sioux City; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. He preceded in death by his father, Doras Carroll. Funeral services were held at the Hinton United Methodist Church. Burial was in Floyd Valley Cemetery, rural Merrill, with military graveside honors provided by the Hinton American Legion Casper Post 477.
