Doris Bellwood

Doris Mae Bellwood, 78, of Akron died Thursday, Feb. 19, 1998, at the Akron City Convalescent Care Center in Akron following a brief illness.

Services were held Monday, Feb. 23 at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron with the Rev.Steven G.Miller officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ricky, Rodney, Russell Hankamer, Gary Moffatt, Randy Willms, and Byron Roggatz.

Mrs. Bellwood was born May 10,1919, the daughter of Hiram and Almina (Fate) Holm, in Union County, S. D. She married Lowell Bellwood on June 26, 1935, in Le Mars, Iowa. He died Aug. 28, 1995. They farmed until 1972. After moving to Akron she was a nurses aid in Akron from 1963 to 1981. She enjoyed ceramics as a hobby after retiring.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Norma and Henry Hankamer of Santa Fe, Texas; a son and his wife,Gregory and Madonna of Akron;five grandchildren, Rick,Rodney, and Russell Hankamer of Santa Fe, and Nickolas and Zachary Bellwood of Akron; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister.
