Ben C. Frerichs
Ben C. Frerichs, 73, of Akron died Sunday (Sept. 12, 1982) in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Trinity Lutheran church in Akron. The Rev. Marvin Mueller officiated. Burial was in the Grace Hill cemetery at Hawarden. There was a prayer service at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Schroeder Funeral home in Akron.
Pallbearers were Roger Frerichs, Randy Frerichs, Jerry Frerichs, Gary Marshall, Ronnie Marshall and Harold Kleinhans.
“How Great Thou Art” and Rock of Ages” were sung by Lawrence Ludwig, Pam Richards was organist.
Mr. Frerichs was born Aug. 23, 1909, in Plymouth county.
He married Edna Kleinhans June 23, 1937, at Akron. They farmed in the Hawarden and acorn area all their married life, retiring to Akron in August of 1969.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Gene of Hawarden; one daughter, Mrs. Raffaele (Mary Ellen) Iezzi of Sioux City; two sisters,Clara Satthoff of Chatsworth and Mrs. Russ Marshall of Ireton; three brothers, Albert, Edwin, and Herb, all of Akron and seven grandchildren.
