Luschen, Henry 1889-1952

Henry Luschen, veteran Plymouth County farmer, passed away very suddenly at his farm home near Le Mars, on December 31, 1952, following a heart attack. Mr. Luschen had started various business places in Le Mars that day and seemed to be feeling well.

Deceased was born November 15, 1889 at Preston township, Plymouth county. He was 63 years, one month and 16 days of age. He had lived his entire life in the Akron and Le Mars vicinity. His parents were Sarah Post Luschen and Gerd Luschen.

On March 1, 1916 he was united in marriage with Emma Frerichs at Akron. Five children were born to this union, two of whom preceded Mr. Luschen in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 3, 1953 at Christ Lutheran church in Grant township at 2:00 p.m. with burial in the Church cemetery. Rev. Richard Fruching will officiate and funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Survivors include his wife, Emma; 2 sons, Raymond and Arlen of Le mars, a daughterEdna Pecks of Ireton; 5 grandchildren one brother, Garret Luschen of Huron, S. D.; a sister, Mrs. Charles Peters of Hawarden and a step-brother, Emil Witt of Hawarden.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran church.
