George Frerichs

George J. Frerichs. 49, longtime Grant township farmer, died Wednesday (April 23, 1975) at St. Luke hospital, Sioux City, after an extended illness.

He was born March 26. 1926, in Grant township to D. J. and Anne Dirks Frerichs. He had lived on his place of birth all his life except during world war 2 when her served in the Merchant Marines for four years. His marriage to Norma Renken took place Nov. 3. 1949, at Christ Lutheran church. She preceded him in death Aug. 31, 1972.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran church. Grant township with Rev. Robert Reitz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of the Luken-Johnson funeral home. A prayer service will be held at 8 p. m. Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors are two sons Bruce and Steven and a daughter Sandra, all at home: his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. J. Frerichs. Le Mars, and a sister Mrs. Elmer (LaVonne) Johnson. Winston Salem, N.C. Mr. Frerichs was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran church.
