Mrs. Michael Gleason died at her home in Portland township Thursday after a brief illness of pneumonia. Her death came under particularly sorrowful circumstances.

Her aged father, M. Hennessey, died on Dec. 13th and while devotedly attending him in his last illness and soothing his dying hours she contracted a cold and worn out by patient vigils at his beside she was susceptible to the disease pneumonia which ensued.

She leaves a husband and six children to mourn the loss of a devoted wife and mother.

Her maiden name was Mary Hennessey. She was born in Linn county and would have been forty-five years of age on March 11th next. She was married twenty-five years ago in Le Mars to Michael Gleason and they have lived in Preston and Portland townships since.

Her eldest daughter is Mrs. Thos. Maloney and the other five children live at home. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Bliss, living near Akron, who is slowly recovering from an attack of pneumonia, and a brother, Edward Hennessey, of this city.

The funeral was held Saturday at St. Patrick’s church in Akron and was largely attended.
