Michael Gleason, a brother of John and Thomas Gleason, of Le mars, died at his home in Akron Tuesday. The Akron Register has the following obituary:

Michael Gleason, a resident of northwestern Plymouth county for many years, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 1923, at about 1:30 p.m., after an illness of more than six months of cancer of the stomach, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James Trautt, of this city. He had consulted leading specialists at Rochester, Minn., and Omaha, Neb., but could obtain no permanent benefit.

Mr. Gleason was a native of Canada. he came to Plymouth county in an early day and farmed extensively in Preston and Portland townships for many years. The past few years he has resided with his daughters in Akron. Mr. Gleason was born February 26, 1860, and died at the age of 63 years, 4 months and six days. His wife preceded him in death a number of years ago.

He is survived by four daughters and two sons, all of Akron and vicinity—Mrs. Thos. Maloney, Mrs. James Trautt, Mrs. Axel Bay, James and John, who have the sympathy of many friends in their bereavement.

He was a man of upright and industrious habits, a kind husband and father, and a valued friend and neighbor.

Funeral services were conducted by Father O”Malley in St. Patrick’s Catholic church Thursday morning, with a large concourse of friends in attendance. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery.
