Larry Weber, 76, of Glendale, Arizona, formerly of Le Mars and Sioux City, Iowa passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 4, 2013 at his home in Glendale.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2013 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with Reverend Jeff Vore of ARK United Methodist Church, North Sioux City, SD officiating.

Interment with Military Honors provided by the Wasmer American Legion Post #241 of Le Mars will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with the family present to greet friends after 5:00 p.m. followed by a 7:00 p.m. Prayer Service. Visitation will continue Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until service time.

Pallbearers will be Michael Weber, James Weber, Tony Weber, Nathan Schulz, Rocci Schulz, Ron Kounkel, Bob Hilterbrand, and Jake Means. Honorary casketbearers will be Tom Buhman, Jeff Buhman, Jim Groenewold, Dennis Fey, and Charlie Jean.

Larry Eugene Weber was born September 15, 1937 in Brunsville, Iowa to Henry and Dora (Steen) Weber. Larry grew up in Le Mars and graduated from Le Mars Central High School with the Class of 1955. Following graduation from high school, Larry served his country in the United States Army from August of 1955 until his honorable discharge in August of 1958. He served mostly in Korea as a postal clerk delivering mail to soldiers in the field. Upon his discharge in 1958, Larry returned to Plymouth County and farmed near Akron for several years.

He later moved to Sioux City and was employed by Sioux Tools as a machinist and later as a foreman. He worked for Sioux Tools from March of 1966 until his retirement in 1997. In 1998, Larry moved to Phoenix, Arizona.

Larry had been a longtime member of the American Legion in Akron. He loved watching sports, he was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Kansas City Chief fan.

Survivors include 2 children: Nannette Schulz and her husband Rocci of Spring, Texas and Monty Weber and his wife Patty of Fayetteville, North Carolina; 13 grandchildren: Jaci Schulz of Austin, TX, Kyli Schulz of Canyon, TX, Nathan Schulz of Spring, TX, Kristen Horton of Las Vegas, NV, Anthony Weber of Fayetteville, NC, Donna Berthea of Oklahoma City, OK, James Weber of Danville, VA, Robert Weber of Fayetteville, NC, Aimee Weber of Fayetteville, NC, Michael Weber of Fort Drum, NY, Amber Weber of Fayetteville, NC, Kayla Weber of Fayetteville, NC, and William Weber of Fayetteville, NC; 9 great grandchildren; a sister, Janice Ferrari of Dakota Dunes, SD and her friend Ron Kounkel of Le Mars; and his good friends in Arizona, the Buhman Family.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Dora (Steen) Weber.
