Mrs. John C. Hoffman

Mrs. John C. Hoffman, 93, Sunrise Manor, Sioux City, died Saturday (July 23, 1983) in the nursing home after a long illness.

Services will beat 10:30 a.m.;Wednesday in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Rev. Philip Wagner will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home.

Mrs. Hoffman, the former Clara A. Beck, was born Sept. 18, 1889, in Lincoln Township, Plymouth County. She married John Hoffman May 4, 1909, in Le Mars. They farmed in Plymouth County until 1924 when they moved to Sioux City. Mr. Hoffman died Aug. 5, 1976, in Sioux City.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Dorcas Circle and the Woman’s League of the church.

Survivors are five son’s, Eugene, Irvin, Charles and Kenneth, all of Sioux City and Robert of Elsimore, Calif.; six daughters, Mrs. Darlene Nelson, Mrs. Donald (Lorraine) Grieve, mrs. Ross (Ethel) Craft, Mrs. Don (Betty) Leapley, all of Sioux City, Mrs. Lester (Lois) Birchler of Sun Rise, Fla. and Mrs. Marvin (Esther) Eyler of Rogers, Ark.; 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established in her name for the Good Shepherd Hour.
