Edward Beck

Edward E. Beck, 90, a Plymouth county native and lifelong resident, died Nov. 27, 1977, at Floyd Valley hospital after an illness of 17 days.

Mr. Beck was a retired farmer and had lived in Le Mars since 1941. He was a charter member of Grace Lutheran church, Le mars. He farmed in Lincoln township until his retirement.

He was born March 20, 1887, in Stanton township to Joseph and Caroline Eichorst Beck. His marriage to Martha Woldt took place at Trinity Lutheran church, rural Hinton. She preceded him in death in 1970. A son Marlin died in 1971.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran church, Le mars, with Rev. Paul Sieveking officiating. Burial will be in Le Mars Memorial cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home in Le Mars.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Don (Lucile) Waring, Le Mars; a son, Kenneth Beck, Sioux City; 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Clara Hoffman, Sioux City.
