AUGUST BECK, 81, DIES THURSDAY IN SIOUX CITY

August Beck, 81, former Plymouth county farmer, died Thursday, April 7, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Huddleston in Sioux City after a three-week illness.

Mr. Beck was born may 8, 1873, in Plymouth county. He farmed in Plymouth county until he retired and moved to Sioux City 18 years ago. He married Rose M. Plahn May 14, 1901, in Hinton.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Lutheran church. Rev. John Deterding officiated and burial was in Trinity cemetery at Hinton.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Huddlestone; four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Kounkel and Mrs. Clara Hoffman, both of Sioux City; Mrs. Rose Kounkel of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Edith Prust of Le Mars; and three brothers, Albert of Sioux City, Edward of Le Mars, and Charles of Merrill.

Pallbearers will be Henry Kash, Charles Staab, Frank Speckman, John Muecke, John Schroeder, and Emil Will.
