Charles Pridie

Charles Edward Pridie Sr., 71, route 1, Hinton, Iowa, retired farmer, died Thursday (Oct. 30, 1975) at his home.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3 in St. Joseph Catholic church at Ellendale. The Rev. Robert McClintock officiated with burial in the Calvary cemetery, Sioux City. Pallbearers, all grandsons were Ron, Rick and Robert Pridie, Jerry Peterson, Matt and Wade Bliss.

Mr. Pridie was born Oct. 9, 1904, in Sioux City. He married Geraldine Carraher Jan. 2, 1926, in Sioux City. The couple farmed in the Westfield area until 1955 when he retired from farming and went to work with the Hinton school. He worked there for 15 years and retired in 1970. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic church at Ellendale.

Survivors include his widow; four sons, Charles Jr. of Hinton, Robert, Akron, Gerald, Omaha and Tim of Odebolt, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Frances) Peterson and Mrs. Marlin (Carol) Idso, both of Sioux City; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Shay of Sioux City; 27 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
