Gerald J. Pridie

Gerald J. Pridie, 56, Omaha, formerly of Westfield, died Tuesday (May 28, 1991) at the University hospital in Omaha after a lengthy illness of cancer.

Services were held Saturday in the First Baptist church in Sioux City. Rev. Heinz Grabia officiated. Burial was in the Hale cemetery in Homer, Neb.

Mr. Pridie was born Nov. 11, 1934 in rural Sioux City, and moved with his family to the Westfield area in 1946. He graduated in 1952 from the Westfield high school. He served in the U.S. army three years. He married Marjorie Linafelter Dec. 27, 1957. He worked for the U.S. post office in Omaha for 30 years as a mail carrier.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie of Omaha; two sons, Scott and his wife, Libbie of Pasadena, Tex., and Joe at home; two daughters, Terri and her husband, Ron Gilbert of Savannah, Ga., and Dawn and her husband, Chris Steinauer of Omaha; four grandchildren, Tami and Leannaha Pridie and Christopher and Michaela Steinauer; his mother, Geraldine Pridie of Hinton; his mother-in-law, Edna Linafelter of Omaha; three brothers and their wives, Charles and Betty of Hinton, Robert and Marlene of Akron, and Tim and Mary of Odebolt; two sisters, Frances Peterson and Carol and her husband Marlin Idso, all of Sioux City and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Pridie, Sr.; a sister, Patricia Bliss; and a brother-in-law, Robert Peterson.
