Knud Knudsen Lived In West Plymouth Thirty-Eight Years

Akron Register-Tribune: Knud H. Knudsen, a resident of Plymouth county for the past thirty-six years and at Westfield for eighteen years, passed away at his home near the latter place on Saturday, March 9, 1946, at the age of 74 years and 3 days.

Knud Hansen Knudsen was born March 6, 1872, in Denmark, where he grew to young manhood. In October, 1903, he was united in marriage with Miss Nielsine Haahr, in the Danish Lutheran church at Vaarde, Denmark. They came to America in 1910 and began farming near Le Mars, later moving to the Westfield community after the death of his wife, May 2, 1918. Both had been confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Denmark and were respected citizens of the communities in which they lived.

Mr. and Mrs. Knudsen were the parents of two sons, who survive them, Jens H. Knudsen, of Westfield, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, March 11, at 2:30 o’clock in the Congregational church at Westfield, Rev. Ellis L. Jackson, pastor of the First Baptist church of Akron, officiating. Interment was in Riverside cemetery, Akron.
