Edna 0. Latham

Edna O. Latham, 79, of Akron died unexpectedly Friday, Jan. 7, 1994, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services were held Tuesday at the St. Patrick's Catholic church in Akron with Monsignor Gerald Lyon officiating. Burial was in the St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery under direction of Schroeder Funeral Home. Music was provided by the church choir with Pat Bernard as organist.

Casket bearers were Orin Blake, Ronnie Dreeszen, Wayne Buum, Bob Nielsen, Jack Miller and Jack Lamoureux. Honorary casket bearers were Rich Coyle, Sonny Lennon, Hank Beeck, Lawrence Maynard, Walt Searls and Butch Lennon.

Mrs. Lath an was born February 5, 1914, in Akron, the daughter of Edward and Amelia (Rush) Lamoureux. She married Sperling Anderson Sept. 22, 1936, in Akron. He was killed during World War II, Feb. 2, 1945. She married Ralph Latham Aug. 8, 1951, in Luverne, Minn. He died Oct. 1, 1988. She was a lifelong Akron resident.

Survivors include two sons, William E. Anderson of Tucson, Ariz., and Dennis L. and his wife, LeAnn Latham of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Mrs. Daryl (JoEtta) Brown of Brule, Neb.; a brother, Walter "Guy" and his wife, June Lamoureux of Chappell, Neb.; a sister, Madolin Bay of Glenwood, Minn.; five grandchildren, Brian Anderson of Los Angeles, Adam Brown of Brule, Theresa Anderson of Tucson, Ashlie Brown of Brule and Abby Latham of Tucson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Nellie Anderson; eight brothers, Charlie, Knapp, Clifford, LoVay, Loyd, Leonard, Milford and William; and two sisters, Eva Lamoureux and Ella Gant.
