Ruth Nason, 79, of Akron, Iowa, died Saturday, April 24, 1999, at the Akron City Convalescent Care Center.

Services were Tuesday, April 27, 1999, at the Schroeder Funeral Home, Akron. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Reverend Steve Jewett officiated. Pallbearers were Joel Nason, Kurt Moore, Mike Tarrell, Brad Banks, Ivan Banks, and Mike Morgan. Carol Harris was organist with Jon Harris as soloist.

Mrs. Nason was born July 14, 1919, in Anthony Iowa, the daughter of John and Mae (Malcom) Behrens. She graduated from Hinton High School in 1937. She married Alfred Nason on October 26, 1946, in Sioux City, Iowa. The couple farmed in the Westfield and Akron areas until 1978 when they retired and moved into Akron. Ruth was an operator for Western Union but spent most of her life on the farm with her husband. Mrs. Nason was a member of the Akron Senior Citizens. She enjoyed playing cards and watching baseball.

Survivors include her husband; one son, Thomas Nason and his wife, Julie of Akron; two granddaughters, Tricia and Jeaneen; one grandson, Joel; two great-grandsons, Brenden and Alexander; and one great-granddaughter, Kayla; three brothers, Norvin of Tuscon, Ariz., Loren of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Malcom of Sioux City, Iowa; four sisters, Coral and her husband, Charles Palmer of Grand Junction, Colo., Annabelle Banks of Westfield, Janice Nason of Portage, Ind., and Lenora Banks of North Sioux City, S.D.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sharon; one sister, Vesta Behrens; three brothers, Gordon, Ted,-and Burl Behrens; and one great-granddaughter, Alexa Tarrell.
