Henry Theilen, 88, Was Resident Here Past 50 Years
Henry Bernard Theilen, 88, of 121 4th Ave. NW died at Sacred Heart hospital in Le Mars, April 15, after a two week illness. He had been hospitalized six days.
Mr. Theilen was born Aug. 29, 1866, in Whiteside county, Ill. and was a retired carpenter. He married Meta C. Collman in Plymouth county March 15, 1894. The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last year.
Service were held Monday, April 18, at St. John’s Lutheran church in Le Mars. Rev. L. L. Belk officiated. Burial was in the Le Mars city cemetery under the direction at Mauer Funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Meta of Le Mars;two sons, Ben of Seattle, Wash. and Lou of Richmond, Calif.; and three daughters, Mrs. Emma Scholer, Mrs. Gertrude Juhl, and Mrs. Marjorie Nanninga all of Le Mars. Other survivors include eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Ben and John both of Minnesota, and two sisters, Mr. Dick Seenar; of Sioux City, and Meta Rieken of Le Mars.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, and was a member of St. John’s American Lutheran church.
