LOUIS C. WIENER
Louis Wiener, 76, of Sioux City died Sunday, May 23, 1999, at a Sioux City hospital. Mr. Wiener was born May 22, 1923, in Hinton, the son of Chris and Frances (Heimgartner) Wiener. He married Gail Truby on November 18, 1944, in South Sioux City, Nebraska. He served with the U. S. Navy during World War 11 in the South Pacific. He was a driver for Greyhound Bus Lines for 26 years retiring in 1983. He also drove for various trucking firms prior to Greyhound and after his retirement. He was a longtime Sioux City resident. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sioux City. He was a member of the American Legion Casper post 477 of Hinton and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Sergeant Floyd Post 1973 and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 54 both of Sioux City. Survivors include his wife, three sons and their wives Ronald and Vickey Wiener of Lewisville, Texas, Jeffery and Theresa Wiener of Ontario, California, Bud and Kris Wiener of Boystown, Nebraska, three daughters and their husbands Fran and Ron Snyder of Sioux City, Mary and Steve DeRocher of Le Mars, Lore and Steve Luse of White Oak, Texas, one brother Marvin Wiener of Sergeant Bluff, one sister and her husband Naomi and Jim Peterson of Huron, South Dakota, one sister-in-law Mrs. Ernest (Esther) Wiener of Le Mars, 17 grandchildren and one great-grandson. He preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Linda, three brothers Albert, Ernest, Melvin Wiener and two sisters Irene Taute and Lorna Ludwig. Funeral services were held Thursday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sioux City. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City.
