LANNY J. MAACK
Lanny Maack, 56, of Le Mars, Iowa, died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center on Le Mars. Lanny Maack was born April 22, 1943, in Sioux City, the son of Ernest and Evelyn (Plumer) Maack. He was raised on farms near Lawton and James attended country school and graduated from Hinton High School. On September 28, 1963, he married Sue Stusse at Trinity Lutheran Church rural Hinton. He worked for the Farmers Coop of Hinton for several years. He worked for Terra International in Merrill from 1974 until his retirement in 1989 due to illness. Lanny enjoyed music, skeet shooting, fishing and collecting antique toys. Lanny especially enjoyed his family and his part-time job with the Le Mars Toy Store. Survivors include his wife, four daughters Dawn Hansen and her husband Cliff, Lisa Mohning, Robin Maack, Nicole Maack all of Le Mars, three grandchildren, two sisters Pauline Lee of Manhattan, Kansas, Lynn Thompson and her husband Larry of Sioux City. He preceded in death by his parents, a son Scott, in infancy, a brother-in-law Ken Lee. Funeral services were held at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City.
