AKRON, Iowa -- Lloyd A. Willer, 78, of Akron passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at Akron Care Center.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, E.L.C.A., in Akron, with the Rev. Glenn Lundahl officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, with military rites conducted by American Legion Albert E. Hoschler Post 186 of Akron. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Carlsen Funeral Home -- Schroeder Chapel in Akron.

Lloyd Arnold Willer was born April 7, 1927, in Plymouth Township, rural Akron, the son of Henry P. and Ruth (Huff) Willer. He attended Happy Hollow country school. He was drafted into the U.S. Army when he was 18 years old. He served his country during World War II and was honorably discharged. After the war, he helped his father on the family farm. Later, he worked for Nelson Hatchery in Akron for many years.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron. He enjoyed bowling and fishing. Lloyd will always be remembered for his caring heart and helping hand, offering them to family, friends and neighbors. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include a sister, Edna Hueser of Knoxville, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Lois Willer of Akron; a brother-in-law, Albert Buys of Akron; an uncle, Ted Willer of Akron; an aunt, Marie Willer of Akron; a special relative, Alvin Willer of Brunsville, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harry Willer; a sister, Alma Buys; and a brother-in-law, Vernon Hueser.

Pallbearers will be Mike Hueser, David Hueser, Jeff Hueser, Martin Buys, George Buys and Kevin Byers.
