Mrs. May Waterbury, who had been a resident at Akron vicinity for forty years, passed away, Tuesday May 3, 1955, in a Hawarden Nursing home, after a three years' illness, aged 70 years, 8 months and 25 days.
Born in Connecticut August 10, 1885, she came west in 1915 and on August 28 of that year was united in marriage with Irving Waterbury, of Akron, at Elk Point. They farmed northwest of here until Mr. Waterbury's death on June 11, 1953. Her only surviving relative is a niece in the east.
Funeral services were held here this (Thursday) morning in St. Patrick's Catholic church, Rev. Fr. J. G. Skahill officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.
Poster's note: According to South Dakota Marriages, 1905-1949, May A. Irwin married Irving Waterbury on July 28, 1915 in Elk Point. (Marriage record clearly says July 28 although obituary says August 28).
