ELEANOR M. MCLAIN
Eleanor McLain, 83, of James, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City died Sunday May 25, 1997, at the Indian Hill Care Center following a lengthy illness. Services were held on Wednesday at Grace Evangelical Church in Hinton, Iowa. Burial was in Logan Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were Doug Macklem, Jim, Bill, Byron and Tim Schindel, Terry Guffy, Par Birks and Curt Lang. Mrs. McLain was born April 24, 1914, in Sioux City, the daughter of Amos and Edna Mae (Moore) Craft. She attended Sioux City schools. She married James Bradley McLain on November 5, 1932, in Elk Point, South Dakota. The couple lived in Sioux City until 1962 when they moved to James. Mrs. McLain was a homemaker. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Church in Hinton. Survivors include her husband, two daughters and their husbands, Bonnie and Walter Macklem of Merrill, Iowa and Janice and Leslie Schindel of Hinton; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Christy Guffy, five brothers, Clint, Raymond, Amos Jr, Ross Craft and an infant brother, and five sisters Agnes Richards, Velma Rodwig, Fern Meyer, Alma Solomon, and Jean Macklem.
