ELMER C. LARSON
Elmer Larson, 82, of Ute died Friday March 7, 1997, at his residence in Sioux City. Mr. Larson was born July 28, 1914, near Hinton, Iowa, the son of Charles and Alma Larson. He was confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sioux City. He was raised and later farmed in the Hinton area. He married Hertha Maschmier. She died in 1967. He married Elsie Henrichsen on February 3, 1968, in Ute. The couple later retired from farming and moved to Charter Oak Iowa in 1976, where they lived on an acreage and raised hogs. They moved into Ute in 1990. He entered North Park Place in Sioux City in August 1995. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ute. Survivors include his wife of Ute; two daughters, Carolyn Kounkel of Le Mars, Iowa, and Janet and her husband, Bill Ostler, of Elma, Washington; two stepdaughters and their husbands, Shirley and Chuck Lee of Lytton, Iowa, and Joyce and Clark Downing of Sioux City; three stepsons and their wives, Lowell and Pat Hinrichsen of Ute, Earl and LaBerta Henrichsen of Moorehead, Iowa, and Roger and Janice Henrichsen of Sioux City; a daughter-in-law, Jean Larson of Council Bluffs, Iowa, a brother, Robert “Bud” Larson of Sioux City, a sister and her husband Helen and Emery Hardersen of Hinton and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He preceded in death by two sons, Dennis at birth and Douglas, a stepson, Orval Henrichsen, a granddaughter Lori Kounkel, and two step-grandchildren, Steven and Tami Henrichsen. Services were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ute. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sioux City.
