CHRIS ALBERT
Chris Albert, 70, of Hinton lifelong Plymouth County farmer died Thursday August 27, 1998, at his home after a lengthy illness. Laurel DeWayne “Chris” Albert was born June 11, 1928, at Kingsley, Iowa, to Raymond and Anita (Kroeger) Albert. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Chris attended county school near Kingsley. He served in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1948. He married Lillian Beeck on July 11, 1948, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church Preston Township in rural Plymouth County. He farmed for several years in the Kingsley and Hinton area until his retirement in 1990. Lillian Albert died June 14, 1974. Chris married Mildred Barkley-Wilsbacher on January 10, 1975, at St. Michael’s Church in Sioux City. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church rural Hinton and the Casper American Legion Post 477 of Hinton. His interests included fishing, playing cards, antique tractor restoration and horses. He enjoyed attending old-time threshing and plowing demonstrations. He is survived by his wife Mildred of Hinton, two sons and daughter-in-law Gary and Carol Albert of Kansas City, Missouri, James and Julie Albert of Hinton, three stepsons John and Kathy Wilsbacher of Hinton, Mark Wilsbacher of Kansas City and Richard and Sandy Wilsbacher of Kansas City, three stepdaughters Alice and John Price of Sioux City, Joan and Don Edelman of Kansas City and Janet Wilsbacher of Sioux City; 24 grandchildren and six great grandchildren,. He preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church rural Hinton the Rev. Sean Smallwood officiating, with burial in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
