LONGTIME AREA FARMER IS MOURNED
Services were held on Saturday for Marvin (Buck) Hageman age 89, of Hinton, Iowa. On Wednesday February 18, 1998, Mr. Hageman passed away at his residence following a brief illness. Services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church of Hinton with the Rev. Dr. Michael Boykin, pastor officiating. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery. Marvin Hageman was born August 29, 1908, in Manning, Iowa, the son of Herman and Mary (Ewert) Hageman. He married Mildred Ludwig on June 6, 1936, in Sioux City Iowa. She died December 12, 1996, in Sioux City. He came to Woodbury County at the age of three. He farmed in Woodbury County then moved to Plymouth County, where he farmed for 55years. He was a seed corn distributor for Pfister Seed Corn for many years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a charter member of the Farm Bureau and a member since 1943. He enjoyed fishing, dancing, and being with his family. He is survived by a son Lamont Hageman and his wife, Lois, of Le Mars, Iowa, two daughters Linda Waring and her husband Donald of Hinton, LaDonna Newberg and her husband Dennis of Merrill, Iowa, one brother, Everett Hageman and his wife Delores of Sioux City; three sisters Lillian Olson of Lawton, Iowa, Viola Junck of Sioux City, Ida Farran of Sioux City; a sister-in-law Erma Anderson of Hinton; five grandchildren Bill Waring, Patti Waring-Harvey, Nicole Goodwin, Brian Newberg, Kim Hageman; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Bill and Herman; and a sister Marie Zenor.
