Frank Labahn Dies in South Dakota
Word was received in Merrill, Saturday morning of the sudden death of Frank Labahn, of near Brookings, S.D. Mr. Labahn suffered a stroke the day previous and passed away Saturday morning, March 14.
Frank Labahn was a native of Plymouth county where he was born 47 years ago. He received his education in the rural schools of the county. During the world war he served in the army and was honorably discharged at the close of the conflict. Shortly after the close of the war he began farming in South Dakota where he has since made his home.
Surviving besides his widow are two children, aged 11 and 15; six brothers, Will, Fred, Edwin, and Alfred of Merrill; Louis of South Dakota, and Walter of Denison, Iowa; and one sister, Mrs. Fred Attrill of Merrill. His parents and one sister, Mrs. C.T. Norton, preceded him in death.
The remains arrived in Merrill Wednesday morning and the funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the Alfred Labahn home and at 2 o’clock from the Methodist church. Burial was in the Merrill cemetery with Barnett’s funeral home in charge of the arrangements. Services at the grave were in charge of the American Legion.—Merrill Record.
