MRS. J. F. RUSSELL DIED SATURDAY
Had Long Been In Poor Health
Mrs. Annie Russell died Saturday, July 1, at her home 514 First Street S. W., In Le Mars after a lingering illness.
Annie Tiernan was born Sept. 10, 1867, at Springfield, Ill., and came with her parents to Plymouth county where she attended school in Le Mars and taught for several years. On April 9, 1883 she was married to James F. Russell at Maurice and they farmed in this community until about 15 or 20 years ago when they retired and moved to Le Mars.
Mrs. Russell was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Eugene and John, and two sisters and three brothers. Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Minnie, Mrs. John Miller and Charles of Le Mars, and Mike F. of Merrill; one brother, Mike Tiernan of Ireton and four sisters, Mrs. R. J. Nolan, Alice Tiernan, Lizzie Tiernan of Le Mars, and S____ (unreadable) Tiernan of Ireton. She is also survived by ten grandchildren. A grandson, Francis Miller, is in the military service in the Mediterranean area located on the island of Corsica.
Funeral services at St. James Catholic church at 9 a. m. Monday were conducted by Rev. B. Bauer and burial was in St. James cemetery. Mrs. Russell was a member of St. James Ladies Aid and devoted to her church and family.
Willigen's were in charge of the funeral.
