WIFE OF PIONEER LAWYER PASSES
MRS. ROSEBERRY, BELOVED BY MANYMrs. Della Roseberry, 71, widow of Frank M. Roseberry, pioneer lawyer of northwestern Iowa and mother of C.D. Roseberry, well know attorney in this city, passed away at her home in LeMars Saturday night. She had been ill for some weeks, rallying at times, but suffered a relapse a few days ago.
Della May Page was born in Grundy Center, Iowa, December 3, 1868, and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Page, members of the Page family in England who were early settlers in New England. When she was a child of three, her parents moved to Chicago where she received her early education. In 1883 the Page family moved to Remsen where Mr. Page was justice of the peace and postmaster in the pioneer days. While living in Remsen, she was married to Frank M. Roseberry, a rising young attorney in the newly established village, September 16, 1885. Following their marriage, they lived in Remsen for three years, then they came to LeMars.
Mr. Roseberry died January 11, 1935.
She is survived by her son, C.D. Roseberry and two daughters, Mrs. Frank Stearns of LeMars, and Mrs. Fred Gezel of Sterling, Illinois. There are five grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A brother Harry Page of Ft. Collins, Colorado came to the attend the funeral.
Mrs. Roseberry wass a past matron of the Eastern Star Lodge and a member of the Presbyterian Church.
She was prominent in social and community circles and had scores of friends. A gracious personality and keen sense of intrinsic values made her a delightful companion among her associates and her bestowal of charity was not blazoned to the world. She was of the metal which helped build pioneer communities.
