After a life of eighty-seven years, August Lang, father of Mrs. August Prust, of this city, passed away after an illness of some months in which his friends and relatives realized that his life would soon pass away.
He was born in Schlcuss Saxon, Germany, in 1812 and came to the United States in 1854, settling at Milwaukee for sixteen years, coming to this county in May, 1870, and homesteading on section 36, Plymouth township, where he lived until a few years ago when he took up his residence in Le Mars.
He leaves one son, Gust Lang, of Stanton township and two daughters, Mrs. August Prust of this city and Mrs. J. C. Neumeister of Granada, Colo. Mrs. George Hothan of this city is a granddaughter.
The funeral will be held today, Wednesday, Rev. D. C. Hauck holding brief services at the house at 11 o’clock when the remains will be taken to Stanton church where the funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Belzer and Rev. Goetz and the interment will be made at Stanton.
