William G. Kruse

William G. “Bill” Kruse, 91 of Le Mars, Iowa, died Monday, July 19, 1999, at the Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in Le Mars.

Services were held Thursday, July 22, 1999, at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant Township, rural Le Mars, with Reverend Peter Boe officiating. Burial was in Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home, Le Mars, was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Mark Doering, Tom Kruse, David Kruse, Ralph Kruse, Wendell Kruse, and Richard Schulz.

Mr. Kruse was born March 2, 1908, on the family farm in Grant Township, rural Plymouth County, Iowa to Harm II and Anna (Nannen) Kruse. He attended country school in Grant Township and graduated from Le Mars Central High School in 1927.

Mr. Kruse married Alice Mammen on February 12, 1933 in Grant Township. They lived and farmed there until their retirement in 1978. They continued to live on the farm until Mrs. Kruse passed away in February of 1992 and then he moved to Le Mars.

Mr. Kruse was a member of Christ Lutheran Church having held many offices and served on several committees, he was also a member of Lutheran Brotherhood. He served as the Grant Township Clerk and Assessor for many years. He was a past member of the Rural Electrical Association Board of Directors.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Lennice and Richard “Pete” Rohlfs of Le Mars; a son and his wife, Donald and Gayla Kruse of rural Le Mars; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother and his wife, Herman and Minnie Kruse of rural Le Mars; two sisters, Mildred Schulz of Le Mars, and Edna Schubbc of Peotone, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; five brothers, John, Louis, George, Elmer, and a brother in infancy.
