William Freeman, World War Veteran, Claimed By Death
Funeral rites will be held in the Congregational church at Kingsley this afternoon at 2:30 for William A. Freeman, 51, a veteran of the first World War, who died in the veterans hospital at Des Moines. Rev. C. L. Oleson will officiate and burial will be in the Kingsley cemetery under the direction of the Dickison funeral home.
Mr. Freeman was born April 25, 1891, in Wisconsin and moved to Iowa as a child with his parents. They settled on a farm near Kingsley. Mr. Freeman enlisted in the army February 24, 1918, and served overseas with the 338th machine gun battalion of the 88th division.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Mabel Clausen of Sioux City and a niece and a nephew, Mrs. Roy Marsh and Clifford Shearer, with whom he lived at Kingsley.
